2010 Winter Season in Germany

While at school,i learned that in the Temperate zone,there are four seasons in a year and two seasons in the Equatoral zone where Cameroon is situated.On the 28th of nov 2010, i experienced winter in Germany.The temperature was far below 0°c .I could not believe what was true.Very early in the morning on the 28th of nov, i got up from bed and as i walked outside, i found trees and streets white covered with snow.I was excited to see snow with its beautiful white colour for my first time.It looked like salt and it also  like white foams that are produced when soap is dissolved in water.I walked outside for some time to admire the snow and after some time i was unable to walk and speak well because i was almost frozen.This made me to dislike it a bit and my feeling about snow became fifty/fifty.That is i like its beautiful white colour and hate the cold temperatures.
From the 18th to 20th of December,there was much snow and all the streets were full of snow to extent that it was difficult to drive.Many people were afraid to drive and had to park their cars and wait for better weather in the nearby futur.Head teachers of some schools declared some days public holiday because buses could not move to take school children to school.On the 19th of Dec,i went with my host parents to a place called Weilburg  which is 26minutes drive from Limburg.On our way back, our car could not climb the hill .My host mother and i had to go out of the car and pushed it.This reminded me of our bad roads in Kumbo in Cameroon.Many cars could not climb the hill and we had to help the owners  to push. The airport at Frankfurt was closed also that is there was much snow and Planes were not allowed to land. I asked my host parents if this how there is always much more in winter and they told me that it very abnormal. They said that for the past 60years there had been snow only as from January and not so much as that of this year.So,many people in Germany have seen this for their first time too and i suggest it is because of climate change.I was also told that when the snow melts the level of water in the rivers rises because water from melted snow drains into the rivers and houses around the rivers full of water.

In Germany,dogs are too friendly that they do not bark at strangers unlike in Kumbo-Cameroon.Most families have as family members and some prefer dogs to children and walk in the city with them,sleep with them in house and eat together with them.

It is a tradition in Germany that feastdays of some saints

like Saint Martin and Nicolaus are celeberated annualy in a very special way.Feast of Saint Nicolaus is celeberated on the 6th of December and on this day,families sit together ,sing songs for saint Nicolaus,eat and wait for saint Nicolaus who brings gifts for everyone in the family.Saint Nicolaus was a Bishop who cared for poor people and children.That is why the person who acts as Saint Nicolaus dreeses like a Bishop.When this day is coming children are very happy and anxious to recieve gifts from Saint Martin who comes in the evening.

My first flight.

Since i was born,i had never gone far into my Country not to talk of going out of the Country.It all happened that i received Blessing from Mgr George Nkuo, Bishop of Kumbo Diocese on the 30th of october.This was because i had been chosen to represent Kumbo Diocese in Limburg Diocese in Germany.On the 4th of Nov 2010,i was given a Viza to go to Germany.At 12midnight of that same day i entered into the Aeroplane saying bye bye to everyone in Cameroon and Africa as a whole. This was a special day in my life that i will never forget.At 8:30am on next, i arrived Frankfurt airport and i was received by two men. From i was taken to my new family in Limburg.
My First Impressions.
I have experienced alot of things and the first one being the cold climate that almost drove away from Germany.Next to that are very ancient buildings,well labelled streets,Aufzug,very scanty vegetation with few evergreen trees and shrubs.I have seen many nice Church Buildings with few christians.I did know before that the can be vast emty Land in the Developed World. I was surprise to see much empty land in Germany.
