Silvester Nacht

End of year is a very special day in Germany.On this day there is great feasting.People organise parties ;they,sit together ,eat and drink wine while waiting for 12midnight .At exactly 12midnight they go out and begin to shut stars.

Freiwilliger internatinaler Dienst (FID) Seminar

Every year there are seminars for volunteers from all over the World who are doing volunteer service in Germany.From the 10^th-16^th of Janaury was a Fid seminar in Köln that I was part of it.Befoer the seminar I had alot of problems like culture shock, communication since I could not speak the language and I did not know how to make friends.There were volunteers from Zambia,Columbia,Polen.Bosnien,Madagascar and Argentinia who had simmilar problems.So during this serminar we discussed our problems and look for solutions to our problems.One of the topics and very interesting was Kulturschock which is very normal when somebody goes to a new Village,Town or Country.An illustration was made with four different persons;

A is called Iran Intergrado:This is a person who intergrates his or herself in a foreign land and has no problems.

B-is Alechandro Adaptado;a person who has adapted his/herself and has no problem.

C-is Paldo Distanado who does not want to do what the people are doing and has kept a wide distance from the culture.

D-is Herman the German who can not intergrate his/herseelf,adapt nor keep a distance from it and has decided to go back home.While in his own home country he also faces this proplem because when he was away alot of things changed and then he decides again to change the Country .So this man keeps moving from one country to another.

After this illustrations I realize that I was person B.

SternsingerAktion

After Jesus Christ was born,three wisemen from the east brought gifts for the new born k ing.These men were called Gasper ,Melchior and Balthazar.

In Germany early Jannuaty is the SternsingerAktion(.stern=star,singer=singer and Aktion=campaign).During this time, children move from house to house ,sing, write the blessing of God on the doors and people give them money which is used to help children world wide.

Every year one special Country is chosen as a focus .This year`s focus was on disable children in Kampodcha.

It`s always important that an elderly person accompanies the children as they move from house to house.This year I was one of the leaders and I enjoyed the way the children sing happily and move in cold snow inorder to have money for these disable children .I think it`s a very good idea ,for it is said that God loves a cheerful giver.
